JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Teknologi pada bus luar negeri saat ini sudah makin canggih. Misalnya bus buatan Neoplan yang menggunakan kamera sebagai pengganti spionnya.
Penggunaan kamera ini memang membuat ringkas bentuk keseluruhan bus, namun fungsinya tetap sama sebagai spion. Sehingga bentuk bus bisa dibuat lebih aerodinamis serta tidak menghilangkan fungsi spion.
Lalu bagaimana jika teknologi kamera untuk spion ini di Indonesia, apakah diperlukan saat ini? Training Director Safety Defensive Consultant Indonesia, Sony Susmana mengatakan teknologi ini sangat membantu kendaraan dengan ukuran yang besar.
"Semakin besar kendaraan, maka semakin terbantu dengan adanya teknologi ini (spion dengan kamera) terutama di truk atau bus," ucap Sony kepada Kompas.com, Rabu (18/11/2020).
Sony mengatakan, teknologi kamera di truk atau bus sebagai spion bisa meminimalisasi blind spot. Sehingga pengemudi lebih yakin lagi dalam bermanuver. Begitu juga risiko menyerempet dan melindas kendaraan lain semakin berkurang.
"Tapi harus diingat, teknologi harus disikapi dengan bijak, jadi tidak sepenuhnya mengandalkan. Karena tetap ada jangkauan spion yang terbatas," kata Sony.
Walaupun sudah menggunakan spion canggih, SOP mengemudi tetap harus dilakukan. Misalnyanya untuk kendaraan besar, tekan klakson sekali saat mau menyalakan mesin, dua kali saat ingin maju dan tiga kali saat mau mundur.
"Teknologi maju harus diterima, tapi karena modelnya digital, tetap waspada dengan situasi yang sebenarnya. Kemudian tetap ikuti aturan mengemudi yang aman, yaitu defensive," kata dia.
